Pierre Cousteau has created a non-profit Cousteau Divers, an online platform that allows drivers and snorkelers to connect and help visitor insurance monitor the life underwater in real time through science, community and multimedia. There are 20 million divers worldwide. They’re able to take snapshots and report what they see on a regular basis, and Cousteau believes this will help actively protect marine life. Cousteau wants St. Petersburg to be the dive center for the U.S.

Goodbye to A P Valves founder

David Parker, who founded the British diving equipment manufacturer A P Valves in 1969, has died. Parker went on to launch, in 1972, visitor health insurance the Buddy buoyancy compensator. It was one of the first devices to utilise a direct-feed, low-pressure inflator. Well known A P Valves models such as the Buddy Pacific, Arctic, Sea King and Commando jackets were marketed while Parker still headed the company. Notably, the company has succeeded in having three of its products make the top ten in a recent DIVER readers’ poll for the top 25 pieces of diving equipment on the market.
